Theodore Robert Bundy was an American serial killer who kidnapped, torture, raped, and ultimately murdered between 36-100 women. Born in 1946, Bundy led a confusing life. The people he thought were his parents were really his grandparents, and his "sister" was actually his mother. This was done so that none of the public wouldn't think that Bundy's mother was unmarried and had a child. Even though he had this somewhat traumatizing past, he was a very focused student, and always had straight A's. Though his life outside of school was slowly falling to pieces. When he reached the age of 22, his girlfriend broke up with him because of his "sexually sadistic ways". Psychologists say that this break up was the birth of a killer. Bundy began his murders soon after. One thing that made it so easy for him was his charming looks and charismatic personality that caused the women to trust him and think nothing was wrong. In 1976 Bundy was caught, but he later escaped. Even though he hid out for awhile, he was eventually caught for good in 1978. On January 24, 1989 Ted Bundy was put to death by the electric chair.

Westley Allan Dodd was a notorious child molester and murderer. Psychologist could not find any reason for his behavior though, for he grew up in a good family. His molesting began at a young age when he used to flash neighborhood children. When he began to get bored of this, he began molesting his younger cousins in closets at family reunions. As he grew older and ran out of available family, he began preying on his friends children.
Throughout his lifetime, Wesley was arrested for molesting numerous times, but never went to prison. Even when he was caught trying to kidnap a child, he received a relatively light sentence. Dodd then kidnapped and murdered two young boys, William and Cole Neer. When police found the two bodies, they did not at first suspect Dodd. This allowed him to continue his murders. His next and last victim was Lee Iseli, a four year old boy. Dodd tortured and killed him, later dumping his body in a garbage pile. In the late 1980's, Dodd was caught for attempting to steal a child in a movie theatre. The police then connected the murders to Dodd, and his trial was in 1990. He was, by his request, hanged on July 15, 1990. |
Gary Leon Ridgway, more commonly known as the Green River Killer, has killed 48 young women in his lifetime. The Green River Killer earned his name by disposing of his victim's body in the nearest body of water; the Green River.
One of the things that inspired him to kill was that he wanted to purge the world, leading to him killing mostly prostitutes. His first victim was recorded to be a young girl named Opal Mills. Her body was found half naked and submerged in the water. Shortly after, the police found the bodies of Marcia Chapman and Cynthia Hands floating in the water as well. The police then spent the next few years having no leads and the number of murders were increasing. Eventually, the investigation team turned to another serial killer by the name of Ted Bundy. Bundy provided psychological information, like what the killer as thinking and what he probably looked like, which was essential in the apprehension of the Green River Killer. In 2003, Ridgeway was tried and convicted of the murder of 48 women. He avoided the death penalty by confessing, but he did receive 48 life sentences with no parole. He remains there to this day. |
